The Victorian and Edwardian terraces that housed the carpet industry, around Blakebrook, Foley Park and the streets off the Stourport and Bewdley roads, have slate roofs on original timbers, with valley gutters between properties, tall chimney stacks and flashings that have been patched for a century. A re-cover with a breathable membrane, new battens and a dry ridge is the right job when both the tiles and the felt are done; fascias, soffits and guttering are the common smaller job.
